No longer a M.A.C virgin

The deed has been done, I caved and bought my very first M.A.C lipstick. Yesssss. About time I say, it took me long enough.What made me cave was the fact that  I was shopping around in Paris, yes you read it right, I was casually shopping along the Champs-Elysée ( it was a school holiday see previous post). My and my friend Kristina both got our very first lipstick together, we pushed each other into buying it, but there are no regrets in sight.

As it was my first M.A.C lipstick I thought it was best to go for an easy to wear nude, and that is exactly what I got. After about 30min of swatching I went  for a Lilly Pebbles inspired lipstick.
A luster finish lipsitck in Syrup. I think I'm in love, it is so easy yet lovely to wear. 

All I can say is; Once you go M.A.C you never go back...

It has been way to long since I uploaded, school has been hectic; I know I can't completely blame it on school but it has been so busy and hard work. Now it's holiday there are no excuses, so I'm back!

My top drugstore nudes

I'm not a bold person when it comes to lipstick. This however doesn't stop me from buying the 'in your face' colours. If I'm wearing make-up and I want to add something extra I tend to go for a neutral lipstick, nothing too dramatic but still face completing.

I'm going to show you 3 of my  favourite drugstore nudes ( I don't have any high end ones haha ). All of them different but all lovely and easy to wear.

1.  Essence lipstick - 07 Natural Beauty

 This is the most opaque one of the bunch. I've written about it before in one of my first posts so I've had it for quite a while but it's still a beaut.
It's a pinky leaning over the slight lilac side, it's definitely a your lips but better kind of lipstick. The lasting power is nothing out of the ordinary, if you need topping up it won't be problem with this one, you don't need a mirror to apply it. If your not comfortable with wearing the bold reds and pinks then this one is perfect for you.


 2. The Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker - Nudist

The Gabby special, for all of you who read or watch Gabby ( Velvetghost ) you will most definitely have heard of this one. Its an orangy/browny glossy lip pen. I love it even though I've only had it for a week. It's hassle-free and so easy for those on the go days. Apply some of this and you'll have those glossy plump lips that Dolly Parton would be jealous of.


 3. Seventeen Mirror Shine - Beehive

 

Lilly put me on to this one. I'm not sure if it's the exact same colour but it's the same range. This one, like the S&G one, is glossy and sheer but never the less stunning.  I'm all about the easy application and this one fulfills my wishes. It's a coral pink with tons of glossiness.



 Sorry that I have been living in inactivity city but the last few weeks have been hella busy. It always feels so good to be blogging again, I always forget how much I enjoy writing about this kind of stuff, I've missed it.

Muppets Most Wanted

Christmas has been and gone and it has left me with a few bits to review. I've already reviewed a body shop product - here and some Bobbi Brown products - here. Now it's time for some nail polish goodness. The Disney for O.P.I  Muppets Most Wanted mini gift set made its way under my Christmas tree. So lets get straight into the review. 

 

 

Polish n°1: Miss Piggy's Big Number

This is a sapphire blue with tiny shimmery particles running through it. In a gift set you usually have 1 or 2 colours that don't really appeal to you. At first sight this was the one for me. It's definitely not a colour I'd normally wear but don't judge before you've tried it. The nail polish is really opaque and is has good lasting power, minimal chippage!

Polish n°2: Chillin' Like A Villain

This is most definitely not a colour I would've picked out myself. It's an orange nude. I personally don't really like this colour but again the lasting power is amazing! This one did need 3 coats to get a nice colour coverage.


Polish n°4: Kermit me to speak

This one is without doubt my favourite. This such an interesting colour that looks different in the light. It's a green/purple varnish with shimmer running through it. Nothing like I own in my collection. I was most exited to use this one and it did not disappoint. Two coats and you're good to go. It stayed put during the busy week after Christmas, it only chipped slightly.


Polish n°4: I Love Applaus

A baby pink or a milky pink as I like to call it. This, like Chillin' Like A Villain, does need 3 coats but it's well worth it. It looks sweet and girly on  the nails and it just adds a little je ne sais quoi. 



Now I've had a taste of O.P.I  I want to go back for more....

Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

 

This product has me hooked. It's as simple as that. 

 

This glorious product would never have found its way into my skincare routine without Amelia Liana. She kept on talking about it on her YouTube channel and one day I walked passed the Body Shop and thought: what the hell lets see what all the fuss is about. I could not imagine me taking my make-up off with any other product.

First of all it smells amazing! Fresh and floral but not in a granny like way.

Second of all it melts all kind of make-up away, waterproof or not. It breaks down your make-up of the day without any trouble.

Last but not least: it makes my skin feel amazingly soft, like a baby's behind. :) Because it's an oil it is a perfect product for the winter time, ain't nobody got time for dry dull looking skin

Bobbi Brown Heaven

 

It has happened, I am no longer a stranger to Bobbi Brown. On my blog I have said it a few times, the balance on my bank account does not allow me to buy high end make-up. My mom however managed to gobsmack me. She got me a shiny, black, wrapped with red ribbon box with the glorious letters spelling out Bobbi Brown. Imagine it: angels singing,heavenly light coming from above and a speachless girl in her Christmas Pj's. My Christmas has been perfected

 Disclaimer: I have no intention of bragging. I just wanted to share my thoughts on these products.



Product n°1   -  Nail polish - Cherry Tomato

This is a beautiful red. Not a dark oxblood red but a red phone box kind of red. The brush is just your standard brush. The formula is very opaque in one coat. If you're in a hurry just one coat of this and you'd be good to go. I Like how they haven't over complicated the packaging, it's sober and stylish.

Product n°2  -  Lip Balm SPF 15

This is a gorgeously packaged pink coloured lip balm. It has a thick consistency without being sticky and unpleasant.The anti-drying effect of it will be tested out by using it for a bit longer.

Product n°3  - Smokey Eye Mascara

Let me first of all state that the packaging of this product is classy and sophisticated, the complete opposite of me. All of these products make me feel grown up and classy (I'm clearly not but girl is allowed to dream, isnt' she?). The few times that I've used this have not really blown me away. It doesn't give masses of volume or length. However I can see the smokeyness of it. The brush hugs the lashes and separates them at the same time. All in all it's a good mascara.

Product n°4  -  Foundation Stick - 3 Beige

At first sight I thought it would be too yellow but once blended, which is does like a dream, it's okay. It's light weight but it covers up all the things that you want to get rid of. I personally wouldn't put it on my whole face. I apply it under my eyes and on my chin as a base under my foundation.

Product n°5  -  Warm Glow Eye Palette

I kept the best for last. This palette contains 9 warm, browny/goldy eye shadows that range from shimmery to mat. They're buttery, smooth, a dream to blend and it has all the colours I could have ever wished for. It's a little gem. Perfect for the party season! The packaging is very unique and luxurious with it's faux croc leather exterior.

 I could not have wished for a better Christmas present. I have been spoiled this year. Thank you momma, your the best! Hope you had an amazing Christmas and I wish you all a very happy New Year!
